On Wednesday, July 27, 2011 the Morris Canal CDC broke ground on a $2.2 million new development in the Lafayette section of Jersey City. Pacific Landing, will be an eight unit affordable housing development. The project will contain 5 two-bedroom apartments and 3 three-bedroom apartments and will also house the offices of the Morris Canal CDC (MC CDC) and serve as a meeting place for community events.

The project is being funded by several sources including the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA), BCB Bank, the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York and the City of Jersey City.  This commitment to community is an exciting opportunity to assist in the revitalization an already growing neighborhood. The development team is being led by The Metro Company, LLC and built by Black Dog Construction, both of Jersey City. The building was designed by the firm of ASA + Zambrano Architects, LLC of Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
