On Wednesday, July 27, 2011 the Morris Canal CDC broke ground on a
$2.2 million new development in the Lafayette section of Jersey
City.
Pacific Landing, will
be an
eight unit affordable housing development. The project will contain
5 two-bedroom apartments and 3 three-bedroom apartments and will
also house the offices of the Morris Canal CDC (MC CDC) and serve as
a meeting place for community events.
The project is being funded by several sources including the State
of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA), BCB Bank, the
Federal Home Loan Bank of New York and the City of Jersey City.
This commitment to community
is an exciting opportunity to assist in the revitalization an
already growing neighborhood. The development team is being led by
The Metro Company, LLC
and built by Black Dog
Construction, both of Jersey City. The building was designed by
the firm of ASA +
Zambrano Architects, LLC of Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
